Yet, our understanding of the regeneration processes, and the key role they play in shaping community assembly and dynamics, still has numerous gaps. Here, I will discuss the role of biotic and abiotic drivers that impact early regeneration of subtropical forest tree flora, through insights into their seedling bank and soil seed bank dynamics.
