Moreover, islands are natural laboratories where we can study evolutionary and ecological processes and consequently, island research has contributed massively to prominent concepts and theories. At the same time, biodiversity is vanishing faster on islands than anywhere else. In this talk, I will give an overview about the diversity of different island types worldwide, their environments and geological dynamics and about the plants that inhabit them. I will particularly focus on how large integrated biodiversity databases (gift.uni-bonn.de) and ecoinformatics can help us to document diversity patterns and better understand the underlying biogeographical processes and to inform policy and management.

Speaker: Dr. Holger Kreft

Affiliation: University of Göttingen, Göttingen Germany

Time: June. 15, 2021

Venue: The Conference Hall in Xishuangbanna Headquarter

The 101 meeting room in Kunming Division (video conference)

Link链接: https://pan.baidu.com/s/1iCb-w0XLxcpBWsF6ddRsSg 提取码: pdb7

Zoom
会议 ID：3088198351
会议密码 PWD：666666

Speaker: Dr. Holger Kreft
Affiliation: University of Göttingen, Göttingen Germany
Time: June. 15, 2021

[3
