Studies have shown that the potential of terrestrial carbon sinks is complicatedly regulated by nutrient cycling, water-heat balance, and disturbance mechanisms, and that a single effect of CO\u2082 fertilization is unlikely to dominate the long-term trend of carbon sinks.
