He also serves as Director of the Key Laboratory of Bio-Resource and Eco-Environment of the Ministry of Education. Dr. Zhang received his B.S. degree from Sichuan University in 2009 and his Ph.D. degree from the John Innes Centre \/ University of East Anglia, UK, in 2014. He subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at the John Innes Centre from 2014 to 2015. Supported by the National Young Talent Program (Overseas High-level Talent Program) in March 2016, he joined Sichuan University as a faculty member.
