He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, a Distinguished Professor under the Ministry of Education Talent Program, a National Leading Talent in Science and Technology Innovation, an Outstanding Agricultural Scientist, and a State Council Special Allowance Expert. He leads the Ministry of Education Innovation Team for <em>Horticultural Plant Cell Engineering and Germplasm Innovation<\/em>. His research focuses on citrus cell engineering and genetic improvement, addressing reproductive barriers such as nucellar embryony to boost breeding efficiency and develop seedless, high-quality, disease-resistant citrus varieties and rootstocks.
