Molecular and Evolutionary Mechanisms of Self-Incompatibility in Oryza longistaminata

Abstract:

Researcher Han Yongbiao mainly engages in plant molecular genetics research and has made important contributions in the field of self-incompatibility in flowering plants. He successively discovered that the pollen factor SLF of Solanaceae self-incompatibility mediates the ubiquitination degradation of the pistil factor S-RNase and triggers self-incompatibility responses. S-RNase induces programmed cell death of pollen tubes through excessive autophagy and reactive oxygen species production, and discovered the dynamic liquid-liquid phase separation mechanism of self-incompatibility.
