From gene to genome: phylogenetic genomics reconstructs the tree of life in green plants

Abstract:

The tree of life was proposed by Darwin in 1859 to reflect the affinities and evolutionary history of taxa. This report utilizes phylogenetic genomics to decode the tree of life of green plants from three perspectives: the origin of green plants, the landing of plants and the rapid radiation of angiosperms, and provides new insights into the origin and evolution of plant diversity, the coupling of plant evolution with the evolution of the Earth’s atmospheric environment, and the ways in which plants have adapted to and shaped the Earth’s ecosystems.
