Background and significance: current status of heavy metal pollution in mining areas and existing remediation technologies; 2) Mechanisms of microbial-driven in situ ecological restoration using phosphogypsum; 3) Practical approaches for remediating heavy metal contamination in acidic mines using residual sludge; 4) In situ microbial treatment technologies and applications for acid mine drainage; 5) Case studies and future perspectives.
