Pollinator diversity in the smallholder agricultural landscape in Southern China: progress and challenges

Abstract:

Many crops rely on insect pollinators for crucial pollination services. However, a number of factors are causing wild pollinator groups to decline globally, including environmental contamination and habitat loss. In this seminar, I will discuss the pollinator diversity in the smallholder farmland in Southern China with some specific research questions: what are the stressors about the pollinators in China? what are the effect of pollutants on pollinators? What are the potential approaches of conserving pollinators? What are the effective methods to sample pollinators (for monitoring)? What I want to do in the future research?
